Smell at Appley Park – Update

I have been contacted about an odour/smell in the area around where the Appley Park sink-hole was located. Southern Water have been investigating.

I received the following from Southern Water:

A few days ago:

Just to make you aware, we’ve been informed of an odour at the original location of the sink hole. We have a design team working on the solution. There is NO risk to public health and we have a temporary solution which we anticipate will be in place tomorrow, which will mitigate the odour.

Today

Temporary solution in place so the odour is gone

Please let me know if there is still a smell or it comes back. I will keep you posted.
