I have been contacted about an odour/smell in the area around where the Appley Park sink-hole was located. Southern Water have been investigating.

I received the following from Southern Water:

A few days ago:

“Just to make you aware, we’ve been informed of an odour at the original location of the sink hole. We have a design team working on the solution. There is NO risk to public health and we have a temporary solution which we anticipate will be in place tomorrow, which will mitigate the odour.“

Today

“Temporary solution in place so the odour is gone“
