Waterside Pool | Isle of Wight | Home
Waterside Pool is reopening on the 12th April 2021 for swimming, which is great news. I supported Waterside for all my years as a local Councillor and before as a local resident. The Waterside Pool is a critical local amenity for residents and visitors. The management of the pool and staff team have worked extremely hard to survive during the last 12 months and survive the three lockdowns.
In the last 12 months, I have supported Waterside to gain financial support from Ryde Town Council to cover the financial losses of keeping the pool serviceable during this time, keeping staff, and being able to reopen safely. I also lobbied IW Council to support successfully an application to the UK Government. This has enabled Waterside to access funding totally over £150,000. So 12th April is a a fantastic day for the Pool. This important community asset has survived the pandemic.
The management board and staff team are now planning for the future and not only survive and grow and working with Ryde Town’s Council’s, new business development manager, a long-term plan to develop the hole Canoe Lake and pool site. Watch this space!
