There will be fabulous street entertainment and live music making it a fantastic evening to explore what Ryde has to offer.

Entertainment will begin from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday 2 December. There will be a Caribbean Christmas theme with Derek Sandy, fantastic light performances, musicians and magic with Huxley. There will be appearances from The Grinch, Elsa and many more round the town along with FREE facepainting and much, much more!

  • 17:00 onwards  Late-night shopping.
  • 17:30 – 18:30     Merry & Bright Lantern Parade starting at Aspire Dover Street, Star Street, High Street and finishing at the bottom of Union Street.
  • 19:00                     Christmas Tree lights switch-on in Minghella Square with the Grinch, Derek Sandy and The Mayor.

We have some wonderful entertainment across the Town in Minghella Sq, Town Sq (Co-op), Vernon Sq, St Thomas’ Rest Garden and wondering round the High Street and Union Street. You can expect to see entertainment from Theatre Train, Carnival Dancers, Pyrolight performers, Storytellers, Illuminated moths, Hannah The Vintage Song Bird, Vectis Brass band and Sammie Jo Howard. We will be releasing a different performer each day across our social media and their location for the evening, it would be great if you could help spread the word of this exciting event to your associated networks.
