A free event is taking place on Saturday 14 May at Garfield Methodist Church, Ryde, for anyone to drop in and hear from a wide range of organisations, charities and people committed to improving quality of life in Ryde.
Organised by Ryde Town Council the Celebrating Ryde day is open from 10am until 4pm.
Residents of Ryde, and anyone with an interest in the town, are being invited to find out what’s been going on, what’s lined up and to raise matters of interest.
A place plan for the town was adopted in 2020, and the event will share progress with this plan and provide a chance to update its priorities after the pandemic.
The town council intends to share information and get feedback for a range of activities planned for the coming year – which could include any aspect of the authorities work in the town including the newly-acquired Ryde Marina.
The Isle of Wight Council will be present, to discuss the current work to Ryde Interchange and other wider regeneration projects across the Island.
Many local organisations will be showcasing their work, including groups and charities who have either benefitted from grants from Ryde Town Council or worked in partnership on projects with the town council.
