Be part of the Solution, not the Pollution!

Above is a short film that asks a simple question of why do people drop litter in a beautiful park. I started my journey of intention of standing for parliament simply by litter picking in Appley Park in May 2024. We don’t know when the General Election is going to be held although the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has indicated October/November 2024 and an election has to be held by 25th January 2025. So we know it is coming.

I was first elected as a local councillor for Ryde East (later renamed Ryde Appley and Elmfield) in 2016 for Ryde Town Council and in 2017 for Isle of Wight Council (Unitary Authority). Appley Park and Beach is in the Ryde Appley and Elmfield Ward and I just love it. It is a beautiful place and a beautiful environment. It is precious and needs TLC (Tender Loving Care).

Climate Change and Covid19 Pandemic have taught me more than ever that unless you care about the environment and the people within it then you will loose the places and the people you love.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

I want to see a kinder world that cares about the environment and nature and a human society where people care about each other. I want to see a Government that listens to people, listens to the environment and makes positive change for a better world. The present Government is not listening and learning. We need change. You are never to old to start the footsteps to change. I start my journey picking up the litter with others and walking and listening in the East Wight Constituency. The Journey has started.
